YOUR DATA, CLEARLY EXPLAINED

Privacy should not need a decoder.

This policy explains what information What Powers It collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Effective September 6, 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your email address, account details, project answers, saved blueprints, preferences, and messages you send us. If you sign in with Google or another identity provider, we receive basic account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider account identifier.

We may also collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as device and browser type, IP address, timestamps, referring pages, and product interactions.

2. How we use information

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Generate, save, and improve your technology recommendations and blueprints.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the service.
  • Send account, verification, security, and service messages.
  • Understand aggregated product usage and improve the experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Services that help us operate

We use service providers to run What Powers It. These may include Supabase for authentication and data services, Google for optional sign-in, Vercel for hosting and delivery, and email providers for account messages. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments.

Recommendations may link to third-party products. Visiting or using those products is governed by their own privacy policies.

4. Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers acting on our behalf, when you ask us to, in connection with a business transaction, or when required to protect rights, safety, and legal compliance.

5. Data retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, security, dispute resolution, and legal requirements. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.

6. Your choices

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law. You can also stop using Google sign-in by removing What Powers It from your Google Account permissions. Account and security messages are not marketing emails.

7. International processing

What Powers It and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards for international transfers.

8. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
